Could Lady be paired up with any of the other characters? Here's a small insight into my own views and general fandom ideals.

LadyxDante

In fandom Lady is probably the favourite to be paired with Dante. The dynamic in their relationship is interesting though it is for this reason people enjoy the pairing, it doesn’t run smoothly. Dante and Lady weren’t made for each other. Lady has a seething hatred of demons and the pair seem to get on each others nerves.

During Devil May Cry 3 Dante tries to kiss Lady after the boss fight with her. She turns her head away at the last minute and he backs off. We don’t know Dante’s motives for attempting to kiss her so similarly we’re not 100% certain about Lady’s reasons for rejecting him. Being a pig-headed teenager Dante more than likely wants to sleep with anything which so much as emanates feminity and seeing as he has just beaten her he may feel that he deserves to claim his prize. Or it may simply be because he likes her, but either way if Lady has just been beaten by him she won’t be in the mood for it.

This shows how confused their relationship would be. They fight a lot; even if it is not serious they are often having digs at each other. It could work, but you can see them falling out on a regular basis. There are no hints to a further relationship in the games more than the time Dante attempts to kiss her. Personally I don’t think it would work, but that doesn’t stop me from reading the fan-fiction =)

LadyxVergil

Another popular one and also very interesting though this is far less likely to occur than DantexLady. For one Vergil hates humans and Lady hates demons so it’s most certainly not a match made in heaven. Both are angry and slightly selfish with their ambitions, they are far more like each other than they’d like to think and would fit perfectly into the love/hate cliché. Vergil barely acknowledges her in the game and the only time she meets him she wants him dead.

This doesn’t stop fans from coming up with amazing stories about this pairing, but personally I don’t like it. Most of the fics, whilst being beautiful works of art, show their relationship as twisted and dark – just like it should be – but still too heavy for my own taste.
